At the Admiral Poker Room of the Mendrisio Casino, engines are warming up for the next big event on the schedule. This will be the third edition of the Swiss Championship of Poker organized by the Mendrisiotto gambling house and the eighth ever since the birth of the prestigious Red Swiss brand.
There have been many professionals who have lined up at the tables in previous editions but the real Swiss champions have been Aris Theodoridis, “master” Cesare Augusto Poggi, Fernando Rodriguez, Francesco Pirondini, Daniele Ferro, Eduard Fondos and defending champion Flavio Premarini, who won the edition held in May 2023 at the Admiral Poker Room.
As with all major events offered by the Admiral Poker Room, there are weekly qualifying tournaments for the big event. Thus, “Road to SCOP” also returns, which will accompany players in the months leading up to the new edition of the Swiss Poker Championship. In the past edition of Road to SCOP Antonio Bernaudo, the recent winner of La Notte dell’Omaha, had made a name for himself by bringing home numerous victories and as many Main Event tickets that brought him into the “ITM” zone.
Road to SCOP tournaments will be held every Wednesday from February 7 through May 22. All weekly tournaments will start at 8 p.m. and have a buy-in of €150 with a guaranteed prize pool of €5,000. The starting stack will be 30,000 chips and 18-minute levels with 10 levels giving the possibility of late registration and re-entry. The top three finishers at the final table will be awarded as many tickets of 250 euros each for the next edition of SCOP.
